What are grillz teeth?

Your smile your style

Grillz, also known as grills, are decorative covers worn over the teeth. They’re often made from gold, silver, or other precious metals, and can be customised with diamonds, gemstones, or engraved designs.

We now offer fully custom-made grillz designed to fit your teeth comfortably and look exactly how you want them.

Common questions our patients ask

What’s the difference between the types of gold used?

The difference comes down to the amount of real gold in the alloy.

Dental gold contains no real gold but is safe for use in the mouth.

9 Karat gold contains 37.5% gold.

14 Karat gold contains 58.3% gold.

18 Karat gold contains 75% gold.

Each offers a different look, weight, and value — we’ll help you choose what suits you best.

What is dental gold?

Dental gold is a safe, non-precious alloy commonly used in dentistry for crowns or fillings. It’s designed for use inside the mouth and comes in a white or yellow gold appearance. It’s a popular, cost-effective alternative to precious gold for grillz.

Can I eat while wearing grillz?

No. Grillz are decorative and should be treated like jewellery. Wearing them while eating can damage the grill or your teeth by affecting your bite.

Can I smoke while wearing grillz?

You can, but we don’t recommend it. Keeping your mouth clean helps maintain the condition of your grillz and your overall oral health.

Do you make silver grillz?

We don’t offer pure silver grillz. Instead, we use white dental gold, which gives a similar look while being much safer to wear in the mouth.

Why don’t you use silver in grillz?

Pure silver can be harmful in the mouth. It can react with saliva over time and release chemicals that may affect your health. That’s why we use dental-grade white gold — it looks like silver but is safe to wear.

Do you offer custom grillz designs?

Yes, we do. If your design is possible and safe to produce, we’re happy to bring it to life. This would require a consultation, which starts at £69, to review and agree on the design details.

Do you offer precious gold options?

Yes, we offer a range of gold options, including 9 Karat, 14 Karat, and 18 Karat gold, depending on your preferences.

How long does the grillz process take?

Once we receive your impression (either in person or via kit), your custom grillz will typically be ready within 10–15 working days.

How do grillz stay in place?

Grillz are treated like jewellery — they’re designed to click in and out. However, fit depends on your tooth anatomy. In some cases, dental adhesive is used for a secure hold.

What is dental adhesive?

Dental adhesive is a temporary, non-invasive material used to hold grillz in place when they don’t click in naturally. It can easily be removed with regular brushing after the grillz are taken out.
